DAVIS, Calif. – Junior Maria McDougall posted a "double bagel" 6-0, 6-0 victory over Gianna Ji at No. 1 singles, but a short-handed St. Francis dropped all other matches in falling, 8-1, to Davis in the Sierra Foothill League dual season finale Thursday.

The Troubadours move to 8-7 on the year, with a 7-7 league record. The Blue Devils improve to 9-5, both overall and in SFL play.

The absence of several key SF players, particularly the normal No. 2 and No. 3 singles representatives, forced almost the entirety of the team to play up in the lineup. Still, sophomores Lena Mundhenk and Nura Fananapazir each claimed seven total games in their matches. Mundhenk took Ciara Wallace to a 7-5 first set, earning the team's Dog Chain award for hustle. Fananapazir, usually a staple in the Troubies' doubles lineup, made just her third singles appearance of the year in a 6-4, 6-3 setback against Sydney Sargent.

St. Francis now enters the postseason part of the 2025 schedule, starting with the SFL singles championship on Monday and the doubles championship on Thursday. Both conference tourneys are hosted at Del Oro.
