FAIR OAKS, Calif. – Junior Maria McDougall, sophomore Sandra Wallace and sophomore Lena Mundhenk each captured singles victories, but St. Francis ultimately fell to Del Oro, 6-3, in Sierra Foothill League girls' tennis dual action at Rollingwood YMCA Thursday.

The Troubadours dip to 4-2 for the season, 3-2 in SFL play. The Golden Eagles improve to 8-1 overall and remain just a win behind Oak Ridge atop the league standings with a 5-1 record.

McDougall swept Ashley Rowland at No. 1 singles by scores of 6-1, 6-1; while Wallace posted a 6-3, 6-0 sweep of Avery Phillips one court over at No. 2 singles. In contrast, Mundhenk went the distance for her victory: claiming a 6-3 first set, then dropping a 6-2 second, before outlasting Sutton Carter in the single-game tiebreaker, 10-8. Mundhenk's match went so long that McDougall and Wallace had both vacated their courts, and the No. 1 and 2 doubles matches were in their respective second sets when that 10th point was reached.

Unfortunately for SF, Del Oro came back from first-set losses to claim two tiebreaker wins of its own, thanks to Rylan Tucker at No. 4 singles and the Jorja Veach/Katherine Wysocki tandem at No. 2 doubles.

The Troubies return to action on Tuesday for a road match at Oak Ridge. First serve is 4 p.m. at Broadstone Sports Club in Folsom.
