LOOMIS, Calif. – St. Francis picked up three straight-set singles victories, including the top two lines of junior Maria McDougall and sophomore Sandra Wallace, but ultimately suffered a 6-3 loss at Del Oro during Sierra Foothill League girls' tennis road dual action Thursday night.

The Troubadours dip to 7-5 for the year with a 6-5 mark in league matches. The Golden Eagles stay comfortably in second place in the SFL race with a 10-2 record, 13-3 overall.

McDougall snared a 6-3, 6-3 straight-set win over Ashley Rowland at No. 1, Wallace swept Avery Phillips by scores of 6-4, 6-4 at No. 2; and Lena Mundhenk scored a 6-1, 6-3 triumph against Sutton Carter at No. 5. Senior Sophia Troppmann traded 6-4 sets with Rylan Tucker at No. 4 singles, but Tucker came out on top in the one-game tiebreaker, 10-4.

All three doubles matches went to the Golden Eagles in two-set sweeps, although Peyton Smith and Anya Bilal went to the brink in their No. 3 doubles matchup. Smith and Bilal lost the tiebreaker in the second frame, 7-4, against DO's Katherine Wysoki/Severine Druart pairing.

St. Francis enters the final week of SFL dual play with a home tilt with Oak Ridge on Tuesday followed by a visit to Davis on Thursday. Tuesday's match also serves as Senior Night, with Troppmann, Ava Ensberg, Kat Gensler, Ananya Saini and Laila Shamshad being honored both prior and after the match against the Trojans. Match time is 4 p.m. at Rollingwood YMCA.
