ROSEVILLE, Calif. – St. Francis won five of six singles matches while the No. 2 doubles tandem of Nura Fananapazir and Emi Martin claimed a victory, leading the way to a 6-3 win over Granite Bay in a Sierra Foothill League girls' tennis dual match at Johnson Ranch Sports Club Thursday.

The Troubadours improve to 6-4 for the season with a 5-4 mark in league play. This also marks the first time they've defeated the perennial power since joining the league in 2024. The last St. Francis win over GB took place at the 2019 NorCal Team Tournament back on September 14 of that season.  

The Grizzlies, last year's league and Sac-Joaquin Section champions, are now 5-4, both overall and in SFL duals.

Junior Maria McDougall (No. 1), sophomore Sandra Wallace (No. 2), sophomore Lena Mundhenk (No. 5) and freshman Peyton Smith (No. 6) each claimed their singles victories in straight sets, while senior Sophia Troppman split sets with Aliya Heisey at line 4 before claiming a 10-8 victory in the single-game tiebreaker.

St. Francis hits the road for two more dual matches for its next action: Tuesday at Whitney, followed by a Thursday visit to Del Oro.
