ELK GROVE, Calif. – Senior Hayley Labia shut out Ella Cox-Espejo by set scores of 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 singles, one of eight straight-set victories by St. Francis in a 9-0 victory over Elk Grove in a Delta League girls' tennis dual match Thursday. This was the Troubadours' second visit to the Thundering Herd in as many weeks, as the two faced each other in a 9-0 decision back on September 23.
Chloe Garcia and Arini Tandon won their respective No. 3 and No. 6 singles matches by 6-0, 6-1 scores, as did the No. 2 doubles tandem of Ava Ensberg and Claire Allaye-Chan. Juliette Irwin also broke every serve in the first set before surrendering two games in the second in her 6-0, 6-2 win on the No. 4 singles court.
Norah Zhou had the closest matchup, needing the extra game in both frames in her 7-5, 7-5 victory over Brooke Hanson at No. 1 singles.
St. Francis continues its long run of consecutive road matches with visits to Cosumnes Oaks on Tuesday and Franklin on Thursday. Match times are the Delta League-mandated 3:45 p.m.
