SACRAMENTO, Calif. – St. Francis won all six singles and all three doubles in straight sets, surrendering just a total of five games, to defeat Sheldon by a 9-0 team score in Delta League girls' tennis action Tuesday. The Troubadours won three singles and two doubles matches by "double-bagel" 6-0, 6-0 results.

The Troubies improve to 4-2 for the year and even their league ledger to 2-2. 

St. Francis scored 6-0, 6-0 victories from Tatum Walbeck, Juliette Irwin and Madeline Welch at No. 3, 5 and 6 singles. Furthermore, the No. 1 doubles tandem of Anna Dinh and Arden Garcia; and the No. 2 doubles pairing of Sophia Troppmann and Caroline Niethammer won by similar result. Kate Jones and Ava Ensberg won by default at No. 3.

Hayley Labia and Chloe Garcia each gave up just one game in the second set in their No. 2 and No. 4 singles victories. Labia dispatched Ange Moua while Garcia turned back Rachel Feng, 6-0, 6-1. Senior Norah Zhou prevailed in her first appearance at No. 1 singles, sweeping Angela Le by scores of 6-2, 6-1.

St. Francis continues its long road stretch with a visit to Elk Grove on Friday. This is a rescheduling of a match previously slated for Monday, but postponed due to rain. In fact, that Monday date was in itself a postponement from the original September 6 slot. Match time is 3:45 p.m. at EGHS.
