November 08, 2024ROSEVILLE, Calif. – Sophomore Maria McDougall took down McClatchy’s defending champion Lyla Van Loben Sels in the semifinal, then battled Folsom’s Jayani Sri Nandika Duggirala to a 7-5, 6-4 loss in the title match, representing St. Francis at the Sac-Joaquin Section Division I girls’ individual tennis championship at Johnson Ranch Racquet Club Friday.

The match will take place at the Troubadours’ home facility of Rollingwood YMCA in Fair Oaks at approximately 2 p.m.

However, the primary focus of the match was the Troubadour senior class of Litzy Alengaden, Anna Dinh, Arden Garcia and Tatum Walbeck. The team honored the four 2025 grads-to-be during the prematch introductions and in a postmatch ceremony.

Brunner takes over Troubie tennis helm
July 03, 2024SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Two-time All-American and 2005 NCAA champion Matt Brunner takes over as head coach for the St. Francis girls’ varsity tennis program, director of athletics Ryan Chisolm announced. Brunner’s appointment begins immediately, with the Troubadours reporting to practice during the first week of August.
