Troubie tennis picks up first SFL win at Whitney

ROCKLIN, Calif. – St. Francis won five singles matches and one doubles pairing in straight sets to defeat Whitney, 6-3, in a Sierra Foothill League girls' tennis dual match Tuesday afternoon. The Troubadours pick up their first SFL win in history, evening their overall record to 3-3 and improving to 1-3 in SFL play.

Maria McDougall and Tatum Walbeck each swept their respective opponents at Nos. 1 and 2 singles, as did Sophia Troppmann at No. 4 and Arden Garcia at No. 6. McDougall enjoyed the largest overall margin of victory, taking a 6-3 first set from Alexa Cram before blanking the Wildcat sophomore in the second. Troppmann had an unusual match, taking on former Troubie Arini Tandon.

The all-frosh tandem of Nura Fananapazir and Alexandra Wallace posted a 6-1, 6-4 victory against junior Shruti Rajesh and senior Anna Morante for the lone SF doubles win.

St. Francis continues SFL play with a 3:30 match at Del Oro on Thursday.
