SF golf fires season low in win over Whitney
SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Senior Arden Han-Wei and sophomore Chloe Jun each finished under par as St. Francis posted its best team score in almost six years in a 187-200 win over Whitney in a Sierra Foothill League girls' dual golf match at Haggin Oaks Arcade Creek course Thursday night.

Han-Wei birdied holes 14 through 16 plus the course's famous "Double Switch" home hole to compile her 2-under-par 34. Jun bested Nos. 13 and 17 to finish one stroke back of Han-Wei at 1-under 35. Additionally, junior Momina Niazi and freshman Sophia Gonzales each carded 3-over 39s, with junior Nydia Garcia adding a 40 to complete the Troubadours' team score. Freshman Riya Chima turned in a 41 for the round.

Freshman Peyton Chan matched Han-Wei atop the individual leaderboard, with junior Nailah Jackson following close behind at 35, but no other Wildcat managed better than a 43 en route to an otherwise solid 200 team total.

St. Francis improves to 3-1 for the year, all in SFL play. The 187 eclipses the previous season best of 192, set against Rocklin on the front nine at Haggin Oaks to start the season. It marks the best team score for the Troubies since compiling a 186-235 win over Sheldon back on October 10, 2018.

SF golf continues a three-match homestand on Tuesday against Del Oro. The first group tees off at 4 p.m.
