St. Francis golf falls at Granite Bay

GRANITE BAY, Calif. – Senior Arden Han-Wei carded an 8-over-par 43 while freshman Sophia Gonzales finished two strokes back, as St. Francis golf suffered its first loss in falling to Granite Bay, 184-228, in a Sierra Foothill League dual match at Granite Bay Golf Club Wednesday.

The matchup was originally scheduled for Tuesday but moved back a day due to course availability. The Troubies drop to 1-2 for the year.

Sophomore Chloe Jun and freshman Riya Chima each turned in 46 scores while junior Momina Niazi completed the SF team score with a 48. Junior Nydia Garcia finished with a 54 across the course's front nine holes.

Granite Bay junior Serene Kim carded a 33, leading four Grizzlies with scores under 40.

St. Francis kicks off a three-match homestand, starting with Thursday's dual with Whitney. The first tee time is 4 p.m. at Haggin Oaks Arcade Creek course.
