STANFORD, Calif. – Freshman Halle Welch ran the 3,200-meter run while the foursome of Sunny Schranz, Brynn Baker, Sophia Kadel and Miya Menza competed in the distance medley relay, representing St. Francis on the first day of the Stanford Invitational track & field meet at Cobb Track and Angell Field Friday.
Welch ran the eight laps in 11 minutes, 28.40 seconds for 20th place in her event, while the DMR went 12:44.05 for 12th.
The Stanford Invite largely consists of collegiate programs, but has high school events sprinkled throughout the 23 hours of action across Friday and Saturday. Troubadour junior Jasleen Gandhoke will take part in both the high jump (10 a.m.) and 100 hurdles (2:10 p.m.) as the lone remaining SF entrant.
