Krotine selected for Optimist All-Stars

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Senior outfielder Claire Krotine was selected as the lone St. Francis representative to the area Optimist All-Star softball game, hosted by the Sacramento Breakfast Optimist club at Folsom Lake College on Thursday, June 12. Game times are 4 p.m. for small schools, 7 p.m. for large schools. Krotine, who will play collegiate ball at Santa Clara next year, is a member of the South team in the large-school game.

Krotine hit .409/.450/.559 in 27 games in her senior Troubadour season, tying for the team lead with 18 runs while ripping six triples – the most since Mady Lombard knocked out seven as a junior in 2006. The Folsom native and Firecrackers Leles alumna earned All-Sierra Foothill League first-team status after snaring similar honors from the Delta League in each of her sophomore and junior seasons.

Krotine finished her SF career with a .407 overall clip at the plate (116-for-285) with her 17 doubles and 10 triples adding up to .547 slugging.

Tickets are $10 per adult, $5 per child with a $2 parking fee at FLC. All proceeds support the Optimist Club's educational programs for children.
