St. Francis no match for Oak RIdge's no-no

EL DORADO HILLS, Calif. – A Kaili Heeb walk in the second inning represented the only Troubadour baserunner as senior Ellison Schroeder spun a no-hitter to lead Oak Ridge to a 6-0 win over St. Francis in Sierra Foothill League softball action Friday night.

The Troubadours slip to 5-19 for the year and 0-11 in league play. The Trojans, ranked second in the Sac-Joaquin Section and fifth in the state by MaxPreps, improve to 19-3 overall with a 10-3 SFL ledger.

Oak Ridge pushed across two runs in the second inning, added a third on a Brooklyn Paratore solo shot to lead off the third, then tallied another three in a long fourth-inning rally that involved three hits, an SF error and two walks.

The Troubies return to action on Saturday for a 10 a.m. game at Rocklin, a meeting originally slated for March 14 but pushed back to the end of the regular season due to weather. They return home for games against Whitney (Monday) and Davis (Wednesday) next week. Wednesday's game also features the annual Booster-Q barbecue and a Senior Day presentation for Emma Fox, Claire Krotine and Kylee Garrett.
