ELK GROVE, Calif. – St. Francis junior Adithi Benush won the Delta League Singles title with a 6-3, 6-3 win over teammate Alisha Anwar.
"It is always tough playing my teammate but it was an awesome match," said Benush, who posted a 15-1 dual match record this season. "We both did really well and it feels good."

"It am looking forward to having some really tough matches because I love the competition," said Benush. "It is going to be exciting."
Anwar, who posted a 15-2 dual match mark, played a tough match.
"I stared really well in the first set but kinda broke down in the second set," said Anwar. "Then a came back and it boosted my confidence. But I think Adithi deserves to win."

"I am really excited to represent St. Francis next week," said Anwar.
The tennis team received the No. 1 seed in the Sac-Joaquin Section and opens play Oct. 29.
