ELK GROVE, Calif. – The St. Francis tennis team swept the six singles matches and both doubles matches played to post an 8-1 victory over Sheldon on Thursday.
Sophomore Maddie Brown won at No. 6 singles and sophomore Emmy Goebels posted a straight set win at No. 5 as the two posted their first singles wins of the season. Freshman Safaa Umar remained undefeated on the season with a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 4. Senior Myra Anwar, sophomore Alisha Anwar and sophomore Adithi Benush also posted singles wins.
St. Francis doubles teams of Lauren Lai and Siena Vincent and Jenna Fratus and Olivia Hazaghazam were also victorious in the win.
St. Francis has a bye to start next week and will hold their Letters to Mom ceremony following practice on Oct. 9. Davis comes to Rio del Oro on Thursday for the annual Booster Que match.
