North Casot Section Division I Girls Bracket
SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The St. Francis lacrosse program earned a No. 14 seed in the North Coast Section playoff bracket announced on Sunday. The Troubadours will play a first-round game on Tuesday at No. 4 Redwood at 5:30 p.m. in Larkspur, Calif.
"I think it was the first season where we played as one big unit," said senior captain Jade Borg. "It is why we have won so many games together. This year we really came together and the gel between us is inseparable."
St. Francis qualified for the Sacramento Valley Lacrosse League playoffs, losing in the semifinals to champion Granite Bay.
Redwood enters the game with a 19-2 record after winning the Marin County Lacrosse league with an 8-0 record.
"We see our opponent and know their strengths," said Borg. "We know where we need to be with our practice to get to this level for this game."
The Troubadours had six players honors by the Sacramento Valley Lacrosse league coaches. Sophomores Sophia Gorona and Maggie Price were named to the first team, while junior Judy Cates was an All-SVL league second team.
Senior Jade Borg and sophomore Izabel Quackenbush received honorable mention accolades. Allie Belafsky earned the Sportsmanship Award for the team.
