FOLSOM, Calif. - The St. Francis lacrosse team opened their 2019 season with a 13-1 win against the Vista del Lago Eagles Tuesday night at Vista del Lago High School.
Sophomore Sophia Gorona was the St. Francis top goal scorer with five goals and seven shots, helping lead the team to a win. Junior Judy Cates, Senior Rose Conlin and Junior Allie Belafsky also had two goals while Senior Jorie Keitges had one. Gorona had five draw controls, Keitges and Cates each with two, all giving possession to the Troubies. The Troubies had 10 goals in the first half and three in the second.
The St. Francis lacrosse team will play Cardinal Newman at 5 p.m. Friday at Cristo Rey.
