RANCHO MURIETA, Calif. – Junior Olivia Lee scored a 10-over par 41, while fellow junior Aja Garcia finished one stroke back, but St. Francis ultimately fell to Delta League power Pleasant Grove, 167-225, in a girls prep dual match at Rancho Murierta Country Club Wednesday.
The head-to-head match took place across the front nine of RMCC's South course, but was halted after eight holes due to the closure of 9-11 on that course. Thus, par was 31 for the shortened round.
Junior Bani Chauhan carded a 44, senior Chelsea McMahon turned in a 45 and senior Sydney Hurter finished at 53 to round out the Troubadour scoring. Sophomore Selah Burnley finished at 55 strokes to complete the SF lineup.
For PG, Sophie Cook led all players with her even-par 31, with teammate Gianna Singh trailing her by a single stroke. Hannah Camara and Petra Yee added matching 33 scorecards en route to their team's winning total.
St. Francis returns to its home course of Haggin Oaks to host Elk Grove on Wednesday, October 12. The team has only that remaining dual plus the third and final Delta League center tourney (Oct. 17, at WildHawk) remaining on the regular-season schedule.
