Troubies place third at Delta League center tourney No. 2

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Freshman Arden Han-Wei shot a 1-over-par 73 to tie for fourth on the individual leaderboard, leading St. Francis in the second of three Delta League center tournaments, this time held at Bartley Cavanaugh Golf Course Monday afternoon.

Pleasant Grove easily won the tournament at 355 strokes, ahead of Franklin at 421 and St. Francis' 447 total. Davis (510) and Sheldon (543) finished behind the Troubadours, while Cosumnes Oaks did not field enough players for a team score.

Senior Julia Geer and junior Olivia Lee each finished at 14-over 86, while junior Aja Garcia added a 92. Senior Sydney Hurter rounded out the Troubies' team score at 110. St. Francis played short-handed with just five players, as another player withdrew from the event due to illness.

PG swept the top three individual places, with Petra Yee earning the overall medalist at a 5-under 67. Teammate Gianna Singh finished two strokes back at 69, with Alaythia Hinds at 70. Another Eagle, Hannah Camara, matched Han-Wei's 73 score. Cosumnes Oaks' Jahzara Vang also finished among the top individuals with her 3-over 75.

The Delta League center tournaments represent the few times all member leagues compete at once. Additionally, they are contested over the full 18 holes, compared to the typical nine-hole dual matches. St. Francis now has a second and a third at the two center tourneys.

The Troubadours return to action on Wednesday for a dual against Pleasant Grove at Rancho Murieta. The top group tees off at 3 p.m.
