ELK GROVE, Calif. – The senior-freshman tandem of Julia Geer and Arden Han-Wei posted the top two scores yet again, as St. Francis defeated Cosumnes Oaks by default in a rescheduled Delta League dual match at Emerald Lakes Golf Course Thursday.
Geer scored a 1-under-par 35 while Han-Wei finished two strokes back at 1-over 37. Olivia Lee carded a 39, Aja Garcia posted a 49, while Selah Burnley rounded out the team total with a 50 in her season debut. Junior Natalie Zipser turned in a 53 as the Troubadours' No. 6 scorer of the day.
Overall, St. Francis scored 210 team points. CO only fielded four players, one shy of the minimum number to amass an official team total.
Thursday's dual – the Troubies' third in four days – was originally slated for September 7, but the area heat wave postponed the meeting by more than three full weeks. The seven Delta League schools will convene at the second of three center tournaments, this time held at Bartley Cavanaugh on Monday. The league's final standings are determined by the combined finish of these center tourneys, in addition to the head-to-head results from dual matches.
