EL DORADO HILLS, Calif. – Sophomore Piper Bates took second overall with 199.15 points while sophomore Stella Cassidy finished close behind with a 180.60 total, as St. Francis outscored both Oak Ridge and Granite Bay in a Sierra Foothill League diving double dual meet at the El Dorado Hills Community Services District pool Tuesday.
Freshman Audrey Solander added another 143.05 for fifth place, with fellow ninth grader posting a 115.35 total for eighth.
Oak Ridge's Mimi Poort won the overall meet with a commanding 250.85, while former (and future) Troubadour Rose Buffleben took fourth at 160.00 for NP3 Charter. However, in the head-to-head scoring between St. Francis and Oak Ridge, the Bates-Cassidy-Solander trio accounted for nine team points, while Poort and teammate Sophia Gatlin totaled seven.
Granite Bay did not field a diver, meaning the Troubadours scored the maximum 13-0 in the event. The team scoring in El Dorado HIlls contributes toward the St. Francis-Granite Bay-Oak Ridge swim meet at the Grizzlies' home pool. The meet total from the swimming side is not yet available.
Tuesday's meet concludes the SFL dual schedule for diving, with the league championships taking place at Whitney on April 21. However, St. Francis will compete in an 11-dive program for the first time this season in an invitational at Bella Vista on Saturday. Meet time is 9 a.m.
