Teoh to represent SF at Optimist All-Star game

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – St. Francis point guard Sydney Teoh earned a spot on the Sacramento Optimist All-Star basketball game, which takes place this Saturday at Folsom Lake College. Teoh will represent the Troubadours on the South squad in the large-school girls' game at 2 p.m.

Teoh scored 1,167 career varsity points at St. Francis, plus another 343 on the school's Gold junior varsity team as a freshman. She garnered All-Delta League distinction in each of her sophomore and junior seasons, then when the Troubies were realigned to the Sierra Foothill League, Teoh represented her team on that league's honor roll. She also snared Sacramento Bee's All-Metro honorable mention and WestCoastPreps.com All-Sacramento third-team distinction this spring.

Teoh sank 95 three-pointers in her final two seasons combined, with year-by-year assists totals of 77, 99 and 80 from her sophomore through senior years, respectively. Also a standout for NorCal Dynasty, Teoh will continue her basketball career at Chapman University.

The 48th installment of the Optimist All-Stars consists of four games: small-school girls (10 a.m.), small-school boys (noon), large-school girls (2 p.m.) and large-school boys (4 p.m.). Tickets are sold at the door at FLC, with all proceeds supporting the Sacramento Breakfast Optimist Club's educational programs.
