Troubie JV holds off Wildcats for eighth straight win
ROCKLIN, Calif. – Junior outside hitter Hailey Sutton posted a double double with a team-leading 14 kills plus 14 digs while senior libero Malia Fat picked up 22 digs of her own in a 25-22, 25-11, 25-20 sweep of Whitney in the varsity finale of a Sierra Foothill League girls' volleyball tripleheader Monday night.

The Troubadours improve to 27-7 for the season, 5-6 in SFL play.

Sutton finished as the lone SF attacker with double-digit kills, although juniors Gilly Glikman and Sophia Palmeri each had nine with Layla Hernandez posting eight. The setting corps of Katie Kramer (17 assists), Harper Rios (13) and Hiedi Vu (8) combined to lead the Troubies to a .280 hitting average.

Kramer and Fat led the serving game with three aces each.  

Fat and Sutton accounted for 36 of the team's 69 total digs. Junior Kelsey Granner added another nine, with Palmeri and Kramer following with six each. Chloe Johnson posted three despite playing just a single set.

The SF junior varsity swept its match by scores of 25-17, 25-17, although the frosh results remain unreported at press time,.

The Troubies return to action at Del Oro on Wednesday for continued SFL action. Match times are 4:30 (frosh), 5:30 (JV) and 6:30 p.m. (varsity) at Bonner Gymnasium.
