Granite Bay kept pace early on in the first set, even holding a 5-3 lead to start. Collier then landed a soft touch on two kills in a 4-0 stretch that turned a 6-6 tie into a 10-6 Troubie lead, with another kill on a one ball helping to extend that margin to 16-7. Dickerson later served up a 7-0 run to produce a 24-9 match point.
St. Francis never trailed in the second, rolling out to a 12-4 start that sent GB to their bench for a timeout. The Troubies maintained a comfortable margin the rest of the way, with Sidney Palmeri's tip along the right sideline finishing the frame and boosting her team to a 2-0 match lead. The momentum continued through the third. Sutton's cross-court shot made it a 10-point set at 15-5, with a Granner ace stretching that advantage to 19-5 before a net violation granted the Grizzlies their final point of the match.
Sutton's tool made it 20-6, then Vu served out the final five points to complete the sweep. Sutton knocked down kills for the 22nd and 24th points while winning a joust against senior Allison Powell for a solo block for the 23rd. The final point came on a relatively lengthy rally, with SF covering two Granite Bay blocks before Glikman's tip scored the match-winner.
Prior to the varsity match, both the St. Francis frosh and junior varsity squads enjoyed straight-set wins. The frosh rolled to a 25-15, 25-8 sweep, then JV captured a 25-21, 25-12 victory.
The tripleheader also served as the annual PAL Night promotion, with students from the various Diocese of Sacramento schools gaining free admission and participating in a postmatch autograph session.
The Troubie varsity heads south to compete in its version of the 17th Stockton Classic, held at seven different schools with Bear Creek and Lodi hosting the top two tiers of programs. SFL play then resumes on Tuesday with a road tripleheader at Whitney.
