SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Senior Erica Jaffe won the 200-yard individual medley, the 100-yard backstroke and took part in a first-place 200 freestyle relay, but St. Francis ultimately fell to former Delta League rival and current Sierra Foothill League foe Davis in a league dual swimming meet at Jesuit High Thursday.

Jaffe won the 200 IM by more than three full seconds, touching the finish pad in two minutes, 9.20 seconds. The UCLA commit then dominated the 100 back with a 58.50, well ahead of teammate and runner-up Riley Wood (1:05.18) in the event. In between, Jaffe turned in a 24.25 split of the 200 free relay, joining sophomore Lilla Kapinya, senior Isabelle Schmid and senior Mia Hill for that victory.

Unfortunately for St. Francis, the visiting Blue Devils claimed every other varsity race, although the Troubadours picked up first-place points from senior Paige Vicente from Wednesday's 1-meter diving competition at Capital Divers in Rio Linda. Vicente shattered her personal record with a six-dive performance of 227.35.

The Troubies picked up 11 points from the 100 back, as sophomore Landen Didriksen added fifth-place points with her 1:05.85. Wood's 1:05.18 won a tight battle for second place, with Noelani Mollina (1:05.33) and Taylor Adams (1:05.40) securing the other five points for Davis. Jaffe's win in the 200 IM helped SF pick up another nine points, with Hill finishing third at 2:13.25.

The Blue Devils clinched the win in the penultimate race, with Irelyn Kennedy leading a 1-2-3 trifecta for the Blue Devils.

Meanwhile, the Troubies won six total junior varsity events, with Lillian Damrell finishing as a double winner in the 50 free (27.56) and 100 butterfly (1:05.68). Savannah Hamilton won the 200 IM (2 36.53), Lena Moggan captured the 100 back (1:07.67), while both the 200 medley (2:06.07) and free (1:52.27) relays claiming close wins.

A crew of 11 Troubies will compete in this weekend's Rio Invitational at Rio Americano. Friday's portion begins at noon, with Saturday's session starting at 9 a.m. The next full team meet is on Thursday, March 27 in a non-league home dual with Rio. That meet will also serve as a relatively early Senior Night, as both league dual meets in April take place on the road.
