RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif. – Sophomore attacker Karly Okamoto scored five goals with three assists while junior midfielder Brynley Hodge matched that goals total, leading St. Francis to a 17-2 win over Bella Vista in the varsity nightcap of a Delta League girls' lacrosse doubleheader at Mather Sports Complex Monday.

The Troubadours extend their winning streak to seven games, improving to 10-3 overall and 4-1 in league play. The game also served as Senior Night, with 2023 graduates Abby Gillum, Louise Morr, Lauren Morr and Hailey Labia honored before the first draw.

The varsity contest followed a junior varsity opener in which sophomore Zoe Smith netted eight of her team's dozen goals in a 12-5 win over the Broncos. The younger Troubies improve to 9-3 on the year.

Okamoto's scoring output highlighted a strong all-around game that also featured three caused turnovers, five ground balls and a draw control. Hodge had four draw controls to match Zia Smith for the team lead, while Elizabeth Barger paced her the Troubies with five ground balls.

Junior Jane Tattersall added a hat trick with three assists, Louise Morr hit two goals, while Barger and Zia Smith scored one apiece.

Okamoto and Tattersall each scored two goals and assisted another as part of a 6-0 start to the game before freshman Regan Silvers put BV on the board in the 22nd minute. Zia Smith converted an eight-meter chance with 2:19 left to send the Troubies to halftime with a 7-1 lead.

Hodge scored four of her goals after the break, and assisted Okamoto on a score immediately off a draw as St. Francis piled up 10 scores in the second half. Barger had her lone goal as part of the run of nine answered, scoring on a ground ball and putback in the 40th minute.

Silvers, who also had five draw controls for the Broncos, found the back of the net with 3:46 to go in the game.

The balanced SF attack in the nightcap stands in contrast to the Troubie jayvees in their 12-5 victory. Smith shot 8-for-14 overall, firing two thirds of her team's shots overall. Gianna Erdmann added two goals and two assists, with Jade Abalateo and Chloe Tanner each chipping in another goal.

The JV game went scoreless for more than seven minutes before Mia Nelson assisted Zoe Smith's quick stick in the eighth. Nelson and Smith connected for another goal in the 19th, with the former's interception giving way to the latter's drive. That set the board at 6-1 at the halftime break.

Erdmann enjoyed her first goal on a crease roll in the wake of a missed eight meter in the game's 10th minute, then inadvertently scored her second in the 32nd. While battling with two BV defenders for a loose ball inside the eight, Erdmann's attempt on a pick-up accidentally scooted the ball through traffic and past an unsuspecting goalkeeper. Erdmann later assisted Zoe Smith on two of her four goals after the break.

Sophomore Sofia Rainbolt tallied four saves, with three coming in the 6-1 first half.

St. Francis heads to Vista Del Lago on Wednesday for the final regular season game. Game times are 5:30 and 7 p.m.
