Get to Know: Lacrosse’s #21 Megan Hoffeditz

Megan Hoffeditz began playing lacrosse freshmen season and is in her fourth season with the St. Francis program. She is planning to become a Creighton Blue Jay and study nursing. She enjoys her job at Jamba Juice and shopping.

Why have you been attracted to lacrosse?
"I used to play volleyball and soccer and I was just a player on the field. With lacrosse, we are a team and it is not just one person. It is the whole team that matters. We are big on making the whole team better rather than make the one star on the field."

What do you bring to the lacrosse program?
"I bring energy and I want to say I am funny. I bring some comedy so we can all have fun. Even though I might not be the best on the field my teammates like me and if I feel like I am doing my best than I am good."

What has been your favorite lacrosse moment?
"My favorite moments have been the overnight trips. Each overnight there has been something really good that has happened. Freshman year overnight was really good."

What are you going to treasure the most as you play the final month of your high school career?
I am going to treasure literally everything. I do not know what I am going to do without a team forcing me to do a mile and to stay in shape. I am going to miss the team, the atmosphere and being around girls that want to make me better."

What are your plans next year?
"I think I am going to go to Creighton for nursing. I am going to visit in two weeks. My uncles went there and they loved it. It is familiar in a way and I have family in the Midwest so I don't think I will feel too alone. I like the small school atmosphere. I have gone to private school my whole life and the Jesuit values really appeal to me for school. I can't see myself going anywhere else. I like the sports too."

What is a fun fact about you?
"I also dance and this is my last year of dance. I have been doing it for 15 years. I dance with Dance Gallery – jazz, tap, ballet, point."

What have you enjoyed about being on the Yearbook staff?
"I have done it since sophomore year. It has made me recognize everyone in the class. Making layouts and getting out there has helped me meet people I might not have met. I am really close with the guidance staff because I have done their page two years in a row. It gives you a bond with them. Even if I don't do design, I can say I have done it."
