Career-low rounds highlight SF-Oak Ridge dual
SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Junior Arden Han-Wei fired a two-under-par 34, freshman Chloe Jun added an even-par 36, while three of their teammates carded scores in the low 40s as St. Francis managed a team score of 192 strokes in a Sierra Foothill League girls' golf dual match at Haggin Oaks Thursday afternoon.

However, visiting Oak Ridge fielded three players under par toward a winning total of 173. The Troubadours even their league dual mark to 3-3.

This marks the second time St. Francis has easily eclipsed the double-century mark this season, lagging by just a single stroke behind the season-best 191 set against Granite Bay nine days earlier, also at Haggin Oaks' Arcade Creek course. However, Thursday's matchup with the Trojans took place on the front nine holes.

Junior Gianna Seghesio beat her previous nine-hole best with a 4-over 40. Sophomores Nydia Garcia and Momina Niazi each finished at 5-over 41, with Neta Tovar turning in a career-low 47, beating her previous best of 49 from her junior season a year ago.

Han-Wei birdied the par-4 first, par-5 fourth and par-4 seventh to compile her 34. Jun sank her first eagle as a Troubadour on the par-5 eighth as part of her round. Jun's previous best was the 2-under 38 she notched on back-to-back duals with Folsom and Granite Bay earlier this month.

Oak Ridge's Bella Ransibrahmankul enjoyed the best overall round between the two teams with her 6-under 30. She eagled the par-5 fourth, rated as the Arcade Creek's toughest hole, and birdied the last three inward holes to edge teammate Emily Quan by a single stroke. Paavni Behl came through with a 3-under 33 to complete a 1-2-3 Trojan trifecta on the individual leaderboard.

St. Francis returns to action with continued SFL play at Davis on Tuesday. Tee time is 3 p.m. at Wildhorse.
