EL DORADO HILLS, Calif. – Senior midfielders Keira Miles and Jade Abalateo each scored two goals while freshman Gillian Hamm added a fifth, but St. Francis went scoreless for the final 28 minutes in a 16-5 loss at Oak Ridge in Sierra Foothill League girls' lacrosse action Tuesday night.
The Troubadours slip to 9-5 for the year with an 8-5 record in league play, moving them into a tie for third place with Davis. The Trojans improve to 13-5 overall and remain alone in second place in the SFL standings at 10-2. SF and OR entered the contest ranked No. 4 and No. 2, respectively, in MaxPreps' Sac-Joaquin Section power rankings.
Abalateo and Miles netted a goal in each of the first two quarters. Hamm hit her lone tally at 9:21 in the second. However, Miles' second goal, with 3:58 left in the half ended up the last time the Troubies found the back of the net. Miles also won three draw controls with Skye Smith picking up two more, but St. Francis collectively only earned possession on seven of the 25 total draws in the contest.
Meanwhile, senior Lena Schnack was a bright spot on defense, finishing with two caused turnovers and two ground balls.
The junior varsity Troubies also lost by double digits, with junior Millie Katzeff netting the team's lone goal in a 14-1 setback to open Tuesday's doubleheader.
St. Francis concludes its 2026 regular season at Davis on Thursday, with games at 5:30 (JV) and 7:15 p.m. (varsity). The matchup will likely figure heavily in the Sac-Joaquin Section playoff seedings, given the top eight teams entering Tuesday's action: No. 1 Del Oro, No. 2 Oak Ridge, No. 3 Bella Vista, No. 4 St. Francis, No. 5 Granite Bay, No. 6 Davis, No. 7 Vista Del Lago and No. 8 Folsom. The top three SFL teams and top two Capital Valley Lacrosse programs earn automatic berths in the tourney, with the next three teams at large filling the three-round bracket.
