JV hoop finishes strong at Whitney

ROCKLIN, Calif. – Sophomore Audrey Bashore posted team highs of 14 points and four steals but St. Francis could not overcome a massive halftime deficit in falling to Whitney, 49-37, in a Sierra Foothill League junior varsity girls' basketball game Thursday night.

The Troubadours fall to 7-16 for the season and 2-8 in league play.

Bashore scored 10 of her 14 points after the break. Jocelyn Dickinson, Emmy Cheatham, Keanna Daneshvar and Jocelyn Dickinson each added five points for SF, which trailed 34-8 at halftime before posting point totals of 19 and 10 in the third and fourth periods, respectively.

Dickinson also grabbed four rebounds and blocked two shots, while Daneshvar grabbed a team-leading seven boards. Dickinson, Cheatham and Bashore each drained a three-pointer in the second-half outbirst.

The Troubie jayvees played what would normally be a frosh-soph and JV doubleheader. The SF varsity returns to action on Friday in a home doubleheader with Jesuit against the Wildcats. The SF girls will tip off at 6 p.m., following a Senior Night ceremony for 2025 grads-to-be Karly Okamoto and Sydney Teoh. The Marauders follow at 7:30.
