PLACERVILLE, Calif. – Guard Lilian Vicio poured in 17 of her team-leading 21 points in the first half, as St. Francis' junior varsity Red squad topped El Dorado frosh team by a 61-21 final in girls' high school basketball action Tuesday afternoon.

The Troubadours improve to 10-2 for the season.

Vicio drained six field goals in the first quarter, then hit two free throws and a three-pointer in the second to lead SFHS to a 41-11 halftime lead. Post Alexis Heise added 12 points, point Karly Okamoto dished out 10 assists, and Perpetua Nwaukoni pulled down 11 rebounds and blocked a pair of Cougar shots.

This is the first JV Red action of the 2022 calendar year, as dates against Delta High scheduled for January 4 and 8 were canceled. In fact, the win marks the first action for any St. Francis High basketball team, as the varsity and JV Gold programs have also had matchups with Davis (Jan. 4, Jan. 13), Christian Brothers (Jan. 8) and Cosumnes Oaks (Jan. 11) postponed or canceled.

The Troubies' JV Red team returns to action at Vista Del Lago on Friday for a 5:30 tip. The SFHS varsity and JV Gold are slated to return for a Delta League road tilt at Elk Grove, also at 5:30 p.m. that night.
