  • Garcia earns MaxPreps all-section honors

    SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Junior infielder Alex Garcia represented St. Francis on the 2023 MaxPreps All-Sac-Joaquin Section honor roll for softball, the high school sports website announced over the weekend. The Utah State commit was selected to the Class of 2024 group.
  • McFarland, Basquez named to Optimist All-Stars

    SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Outfielder Olivia McFarland and infielder Jazzy Basquez each earned spots on the South squad in the Sacramento Breakfast Optimist Senior All-Star Softball Game, held at Capital Christian on Wednesday, June 7. The Small School game starts at 5:30, while the Large School contest – which includes St. Francis – begins on the varsity field at 6:30 p.m.
  • Nabeta, sweet SF sixteen earn Delta League plaudits

    SACRAMENTO, Calif. – St. Francis head swimming coach Brian Nabeta earned Co-Coach of the Year while a total of 16 Troubadours won a total of 16 first-team honors, as the spring sports All-Delta League awards were announced by commission Rick Spears’ office Monday.

The game takes place at the Troubadours’ Schuster Field on Tuesday at 4 p.m.

The Troubadours had trailed by a 5-0 deficit after two innings, and did not get on the board until the fifth.

    TRACY, Calif. – Freshman Reese Lewis and junior Kiley Shea each posted shutouts to lead St. Francis to a Day 2 sweep in the Platinum bracket of the NFCA Nor Cal Leadoff Classic girls’ softball tournament. The Troubadours blanked Los Banos, 4-0, in their Saturday opener; then defeated Orestimba by a 6-0 final in the tourney’s consolation championship game.

    SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Senior right fielder Jazzy Basquez and junior first baseman Alex Garcia had their team’s lone hits as St. Francis fell to Pleasant Grove, 13-1, in five innings during the varsity end of a Delta League softball doubleheader at Schuster Field Thursday. The game represented the first home game for the Troubadours in more than three weeks, and the opener of the 2023 league schedule.

    NAPA, Calif. – Junior corner infielders Alex Garcia and Hailey Strange launched solo homers in each end of the doubleheader, but St. Francis ultimately came away on the losing end of both contests in high school softball action at Vintage Saturday afternoon. The Troubadours lost an 11-7 slugfest to Benicia in a neutral-site tilt, then fell by an 11-1 final in five innings to the host Crushers.

The Troubadours led for most of the contest before surrendering the equalizer in the sixth and the walk-off in the seventh.
