SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Junior infielder Alex Garcia represented St. Francis on the 2023 MaxPreps All-Sac-Joaquin Section honor roll for softball, the high school sports website announced over the weekend. The Utah State commit was selected to the Class of 2024 group.
Garcia finished 39-for-91 at the plate for a .429/.458/.571 slash line, while scoring 16 runs with 23 batted in. She also tied Francesca Guerrera and Claire Krotine for the team lead with seven doubles. Garcia launched two homers for the year: a solo shot in a neutral-site game against Benicia (Mar. 25) and a two-run blast at home against Elk Grove (Apr. 26). In all, she helped the Troubadours to a 16-13 overall record, an 8-4 mark in the Delta League, and a semifinal berth in the CIF-SJS Division II championship tournament.
Garcia previously garnered All-Delta League distinction, joining Krotine, Guerrera and senior Jazzy Basquez on the first team.
MaxPreps honored a total of 86 players from the section: 27 from each of the 2023 and 2024 senior classes, plus 15 from the 2025 and 2026 cohorts. The selection process is based on individual performance during section play, with regional play not being considered, and emphasis is placed on team success. Central Catholic's Randi Roelling (2023), Whitney's Hannah Duncan (2024), Pleasant Grove's Madeline Lawson (2025) and Capital Christian's Ayla Tuua (2026) captured Player of the Year nods for each age group.
