  • Optimist Club Honors Wright with HOF Honor, Edwards Wins MVP
    December 08, 2019
    St. Francis Head Coach Alynn Wright was honored at Sunday’s Optimist All-Star game with selection into the Optimist Hall of Fame by the Evening Optimist Club of Sacramento. She was a co-coach for the Large Schools South Team that featured Troubadours Alexa Edwards, Lara Chappuie and Jes Moral.
  • Volleyball’s Edwards Named All-Metro Player of the Year

    St. Francis senior Alexa Edwards was named the Sacramento Bee’s All-Metro Player of the Year in the November 27 edition of the newspaper, joining teammates Ellie Eichhorn, Chloe Henning, Ashely Magley and Jesiree Moral in earning All-Metro honors.

    St. Francis senior outside hitter Alexa Edwards was named to the Delta League Most Valuable Player and named to the All-League for the fourth consecutive season.
  • Volleyball Ends Season on 3-0 Loss to Bishop O’Dowd in CIF Open Quarters

    he No. 3-seeded volleyball team lost to No. 6 Bishop O’Dowd 3-0 in the CIF Northern California Open Division quarterfinals Wednesday night. The Dragons eliminated the Troubadours for the second-consecutive season, winning 25-23, 25-22, 25-20.
  • Volleyball Wins Section Title 3-0 over Oak Ridge

    The top-ranked St. Francis volleyball team swept No. 3 Oak Ridge 25-21, 25-18, 25-13 to win their schools first Sac-Joaquin Section title in volleyball since 2012 and 13th in school history.
  • Volleyball’s Edwards Named to AVCA All-Region Team

    St. Francis senior Alexa Edwards was named to the inaugural American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-Region team. Edwards was one of 34 players chosen for the Region 9 team from the states of California, Nevada and Arizona.
  • Volleyball Outlasts Cosumnes Oaks to Reach Section Final

    The St. Francis volleyball team fought off to two set points and overcame a 23-17 in the fourth to close out league rival Cosumnes Oaks 3-1 to advance to the Sac-Joaquin Section final Saturday.  The Troubadours needed four sets to reach their third straight Division I section final, winning 25-15, 25-13, 20-25, 32-30.
  • Volleyball Named the Les Schwab Tires Sac-Joaquin Section Team of the Month

    The St. Francis volleyball team has been chosen the Les Schwab Tires Sac-Joaquin Section Team of the Month for October. The Troubadours were chosen based on a combination of performance, dedication in the classroom and service to the community.
  • Get to Know: Volleyball's #23 Lauren Patella

    Lauren Patella is in her first full season on the varsity team this season. She has recorded 113 kills in over 70 sets played this year. She recorded a career-high nine kills against Oak Ridge.  She was called up from the JV team last season for the playoffs. A fun fact about Lauren is she was born with a streak of grey hair. 
  • Volleyball Posts Comeback Win to Reach Semifinals

    On a night that featured two top-four seeds eliminated in the Sac-Joaquin Section Division I bracket, the No. 1 St. Francis volleyball overcame a loss in the first set to post a 3-1 win over Turlock on Thursday night 22-25, 25-22, 25-16, 25-8 to reach the semifinals.

    Top-seed St. Francis volleyball opened the Sac-Joaquin Section Division I playoff play with 3-0 win over No. 17 Enochs 25-13, 25-10, 25-8.
  • Volleyball Top Seed in the Sac-Joaquin Section Division I Bracket

    The St. Francis volleyball team earned the No. 1 seed in the Sac-Joaquin Section Division I Girls bracket for the third consecutive season, the Sac-Joaquin Section announced Friday. The Troubadours will open play on Tuesday, Oct. 29 at 7 p.m. against the winner of No. 16 Monterey Trail and No. 17 Enochs played on Monday, Oct. 28. Tickets are $8 for adults, $6 for seniors and $5 for children. No Sports Passes will be accepted.
  • Volleyball’s Jesiree Moral Commits to Fresno Pacific

    Senior setter Jesiree Moral has made a verbal commitment to sign with Fresno Pacific University to attend and play at the school next fall.
  • Volleyball Completes Delta League Undefeated

    The St. Francis volleyball team completed its third straight undefeated Delta League season with a  3-0 win (25-12, 25-13, 25-19) over Franklin on Tuesday. The Troubadours have a bye on the final regular season date, having completed their schedule at 32-2 and 12-0.
  • Volleyball Clinches Delta League Title with Senior Night Win

    The St. Francis volleyball team opened the night with a celebration of their five seniors and then capped off the evening with a Delta League Championship after a 3-0 win over Cosumnes Oaks 25-15, 25-11, 25-18.

  • Troubadours Featured in National Public Service Announcements

    Three St. Francis students were featured in two Impact Teen Drivers public service announcements to be used nationwide to educate communities and teens on the perils of distracted driving. The PSAs were filmed this summer at Jesuit High School.
  • Get to Know: Volleyball's #15 Lara Chappuie

    Lara is in her second season on the varsity team. She started playing in elementary school. She is a member of Latin Club and competes regionally with the Club. They have the Northern California Convention later this month and State Convention is in April. She also likes to bake in her free time.

    Suzanne Salazar is in her second season on the varsity team. She is the co-president of the Asian Pacific Islander Club, dances with ERA and serves on the Retreat Team and as an Ambassador. She hopes to attend the University of San Francisco and study kinesiology.

    The St. Francis Junior Varsity volleyball team swept through the CIVT Tournament of Champions Saturday at Capital Sports Center. The Troubadours defeated Oak Ridge in final 25-22, 25-21 to complete an undefeated day.

    The St. Francis volleyball team won the Chris Craft Invitational on Saturday at Oak Ridge High School, posting a 6-0 record and winning three-set battles with host Oak Ridge in the semifinals and Presentation in the final.
  • Volleyball Sweeps Franklin to Win 18th Straight, Regional and State Rankings Update

    The perfect start to the 2019 season continued Thursday as the St. Francis volleyball team posted a 25-7, 25-11, 25-13 win over Franklin to win their 18th straight match. It ties the mark set to start the 2005 season at 18-0.

    Monet Cook is in her second season on the varsity team and third in the SF volleyball program. She transferred to SF from Country Day. She is the Student Body Vice President this year. She is considering George Washington, American, Georgetown and Howard. Fun Fact: She plays the cello.

    The No.1-ranked St. Francis varsity volleyball team was tested on the road at Cosumnes Oaks but still prevailed 25-23, 25-13, 26-24 in straight sets to improve to 17-0 on the season and 5-0 in Delta League play on Tuesday.

    Chloe Henning is a third-year member of the varsity team. She recently was named to the All-Tournament team at the Central Valley Classic after helping SF to an 8-0 weekend. She plays for the Rage Volleyball Club. Fun Fact: She can wiggle her ears.

    St. Francis senior Alexa Edwards has been named to the Senior Aces list by Prep Volleyball and was named to the list of the Top 250 recruits in the Class of 202 as selected by college coaches.
