SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Sophomore midfielder Yasmin Azar assisted forward Piper Sherburne on St. Francis' lone goal as the JV Gold tied Chico's varsity team, 1-1, in the morning contest of the Inderkum Tournament Saturday. Azar and defender Summer Silvestri were subsequently named to the all-tournament team.

Only the top two teams advanced to a championship game.

JV Gold head coach Alex Hoang described the Panthers squad as "loaded," citing players committed to Saint Mary's and UC Davis on their roster.

Saturday's draw follows a Friday session in which the Troubies' Gold team crushed Natomas, 11-0, then played to a 2-2 draw against McClatchy. Both opponents are varsity squads.

St. Francis returns "home" for a game against Sheldon at Cristo Rey High School Tuesday. The contest follows the varsity team's 4 p.m. Delta League matchup with the Huskies.

UPDATE: Azar was later announced as the Golden Boot Award winner as the tournament's highest scorer. She scored six total goals in Friday's doubleheader (four vs. Natomas, two vs. McClatchy).
