Jenn Moore (now Rosales), a St. Francis graduate and a contributor to three straight NCGA/CIF championships, returns to her alma mater to assume the helm of the Troubadours’ varsity golf program, director of athletics Ryan Chisolm announced in August 2024.

Moore played four years of varsity golf at St. Francis, helping the team capture NorCal titles in 2006, 2007 and 2008. Those squads went on place fourth, fifth and third at the CIF state championships in those respective years. In fact, Moore remains one of only four Troubies to compete at the state tourney at least three times, alongside Daniela Okino, Marissa Mar and Briana Mao (four years).

Moore cites her own experience at St. Francis as a motivating guide for her new coaching post. “I think the number one thing that I experienced that I want to really impart is the team element of golf. Golf is a very singular sport in a lot of ways, but the beauty of a golf team is having those team dynamics,” she said.

“One of my big goals is to not only make sure we’re focused on that team spirit and team energy, but also to really enjoy the game of golf. I want all of the girls to appreciate the game of golf as much as I do, and to allow it to mature with them and their golf game along the way. Like I said, despite it being a team effort, golf is very individual, and personal skills need to be developed. So if we can really focus on your personal goals throughout the season, and achieve as many of them as possible, that would my secondary goal for the team”

Moore, who now works as an auditor for the State of California, graduated from St. Francis in 2009, earned her undergraduate degree in psychology from UC Irvine in 2013, then added a Master of Public Health from Boston University in 2017. While St. Francis marks her first coaching stint, Moore remains an avid golfer and serves as a volunteer instructor for First Tee of Sacramento.
