Nikki Horning begins her second season with the St. Francis softball program.
Horning has coached at various levels of softball since ending her collegiate softball career at the University of South Carolina in 1999. She played for the Gamecocks from 1995-99, earning four letters. She ranks among the top 10 in career winning percentage and earned run average (1.34) and was part of two no-hitters in her career, a solo job against Winthrop and a combined no-hitter vs. Auburn.
She a part of three teams that advanced to the NCAA Tournament and one College World Series appearance in 1997. She earned second-team all-region honors in 1997 and was an SEC Academic Honor Roll selection
She has done individual hitting, pitching and fielding instruction since 2014. She has worked wih Elk Grove Girls Softball (2003-2004, 2015) and most recently as an assistant coach with BatBusters 14&U.
She has worked at CalPERS since 1999 in various positions.
